What are you thankful for about Family Promise?

"Our Families" from Matthew

I’m thankful for the families we get the privilege to serve each day. I've learned so much from them.

  • I’ve learned just how blessed I am.
  • I’ve learned about what it’s like experiencing homelessness and all the challenges that come along with it.
  • I’ve learned how it’s never as easy as "just get a job."
  • I’ve learned the issues around homelessness and how to solve it are way more complex than I ever realized.

Mostly though, I’ve learned about resilience and determination. Some of the families I’ve worked with amaze me at how they deal with all the challenges life throws at them.

They’re taking care of each other while fighting to get back on their feet.

I've said it many times, but if I were trying to handle half of what they do, I would be in a corner, in a ball, sucking my thumb. But they just keep going. And I’m thankful for that.

"Our Team" from Stacey

I am thankful for the staff here at Family Promise HCR. I am blessed to work alongside such passionate and caring individuals.

A guest once said "When you come into this office, it's like you are wrapped in a warm hug from your Mom."

That feeling is exactly how I feel when I walk into the office. Sometimes things can get emotional or frustrating, but with the co-workers that I have, I never feel alone.

We always have each other's backs, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

"Our Common Vision" from Christine

I am thankful to work with a fabulous team of people who share a common vision - to have a positive impact on our community and the lives of those around us.

Whether it's through financial assistance, education and support, or simply offering a compassionate ear, the staff and volunteers with Family Promise continually amaze me with their kindness, their faith, and their determination to "be the change".

"Our Supporters" from Susan

Working in community outreach and volunteer coordination, I’m overwhelmingly thankful for all the folks who support Family Promise through volunteering and donations.

People are so generous with their time, energy, and funds. Knowing that we are in partnership with so many people helping families find stability again makes my job so fulfilling.

Today I got a call from a man whose family of five is in crisis. I know that if they come into the program, they will have a whole group of people ready to support them. I'm thankful for that!
