I’m thankful for the families we get the privilege to serve each day. I've learned so much from them.
- I’ve learned just how blessed I am.
- I’ve learned about what it’s like experiencing homelessness and all the challenges that come along with it.
- I’ve learned how it’s never as easy as "just get a job."
- I’ve learned the issues around homelessness and how to solve it are way more complex than I ever realized.
Mostly though, I’ve learned about resilience and determination. Some of the families I’ve worked with amaze me at how they deal with all the challenges life throws at them.
They’re taking care of each other while fighting to get back on their feet.
I've said it many times, but if I were trying to handle half of what they do, I would be in a corner, in a ball, sucking my thumb. But they just keep going. And I’m thankful for that.
